Their name was spelled Boulds. They are found in the records of the church of St Nicholas in Oddington, Gloucestershire England. They were Yeoman and farmers of crops and sheep with orchards on the land. The economy of the family took a downturn in the mid 1800's when the wool trade in England declined due to the demand for American cotton. At that point, and after the death of the family patriarch in 1850, the Boulds, Bowles, Bowls family started to move.
